Our History

History & Background

Kharagpur Tribal B.Ed Training College was established to address the critical need for qualified teachers in the tribal and rural belts of Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. Located at Matkatpur, the college was set up with the vision of providing accessible, quality teacher education to students from underserved communities.

Over the years, the college has grown into a respected institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Government of India, and affiliated to both Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (BSAEU) for the B.Ed programme and the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) for the D.El.Ed programme.
